Ms.Vilecat's Shoppe

I make crafts and stuff!

That’s for you, Brotatoe :3

A few things I discovered as I’ve been working on the armor:
- Before adding paper mache, the skeleton should’ve been fully covered (no holes). It probably is the culprit for all the warping that happened.
- Paper mache paste is awesome for fixing those terrible bumps and crevisses, but takes ages to dry.
- Spackling is actually a good cheap option for smoothing everything out. I’m glad, however, that I added metal wiring (used for floral ornamenting) to the “ears” to help them keep their shape :)

The rest of the armor is mostly done now, out of crafting foam. Upcoming: gem molding and LEDs!

After a week on/off of glue and paper all over, here’s the progress on my cosplay.

They are the main pieces of the armor and were more of a pain than expected to work on. A lot of warping unfortunately in places due to all the curves, but the smoothing process I’m testing will hopefully fix this.

The remaining parts of the armor should be much easier as they’ll be simple layers of craft foam attached to the body.

I’m both looking forward and not for the “dress” as it needs to be loosely adjusted and has ruffles(bane of a seamstress).

Will post more updates later this week :)

Day 4 of my work on the cosplay I’ll be (hopefully) wearing at this upcoming PAXEast. This is the main piece of armor’s skeleton, only partly covered because of work starting soon. The skeleton of the headpiece is currently resting on my crafting table.

Can you guess which character it is?
Hint: she’s from a MOBA.

This is quite a beauty I’ve been working on recently. It required all my pegboards and a few thousand beads.

It will, if the ironing isn’t a problem, be one of the many pieces I’ll be offering as prizes that can be won with donations made during each game played.

what do men want? it’s sausage. so much sausage. tons of sausage. They want their chapped. Burly lips wrapped around a length of greasy sausage as it runs over their tongues, probes, and then gently slides down the back of their throats

Is this for real!?

Lost Eden Soundtrack

While trying to figure out this sock pattern, I figured I could share some of my childhood memories, more specifically game-wise.

When I was about 11 yo, for my birthday, my mother gifted me 2 games: some pinball game that never worked, and Lost Eden, a point n click adventure. It was very impressive at the time visually, and the atmosphere and story are still great after all these years. I recently remembered that game for some strange reason, and found a link to the soundtrack on youtube. I hope you guys enjoy it!

The other game that never worked? My mom ended up going to the store to exchange it back with me, and I ended up with another great point n click, Grim Fandango :D

Hopefully I have something substantial to show on that sock progress soon!

Finally a new work in progress, after many trials and errors :D

This is a commission a friend of mine made after looking through one of my crochet books. The original pattern asks for bulky yarn and she wanted something lighter looking, so I grabbed a very nice and light skein of Bernat Softee Baby acrylic.

It more or less doubled everything in measurements, and I had to do a lot of undo/redo from the moment I added the opening for the thumb. If I have some spare time and enough extra yarn left, maybe I should add a little decorative border to the bottom.

For anyone wondering, this is from the book Crochet Boutique. It has a nice list of projects that, unlike certain other books I’ve bought and/or read, doesn’t make you wonder why someone came up with, or would even waste yarn making X or Y pattern (I’m looking at you, egg covers and apple warmers!).

Because I love most of the artists on the album (I don’t really know some of them :<) and my husband’s one of them. I wish it’d also be available on bandcamp, but Amazon is quite good :D

Hey guys!

So my husband bought me Pokemon X after “facing the hordes of snotty kids and unwashed antisocial creeps” lining upon launch day. I have to say, the game’s gorgeous and hooks you from the start. I’m currently in Camphrier Town and spent a lot of time catching as many pokemon as I could, while not playing the minigames with Shinobi, my Frogadier (water starter’s 1st evo).

The husband’s now surprised I haven’t done much outside of playing Pokemon X and Heartstone (just received a beta key Monday iirc).

Work-wise, I’m finishing some commissions and stocking on a few extra perler items for Nerdapalooza. More will be added to the shop after the 24th, and pictures should follow soon after the 20th at least.

Take care, ladies and gents! <3

It’s been forever since I painted, but with Nerdapalooza coming up, I thought I should at least have one recent painting.

Hex, just like me, will be at Nerdapalooza (he’s even part of the staff!) on Orlando, from Oct 18 to Oct 20. No idea if he has a shop online or if he mails any of them, but feel free to drop him a message for requests :D

Debating whether or not I should add them to my shop. These specific ones are part of a commission I’m about to ship (also includes TMNT key chains).

Whatcha think guys?
